a girl and her camera

my photography has been an outward manifestation of an inward journey. the journey to be seen fresh and anew as the rising sun of each day. glowing in brilliance, with the past behind me, and the excitement of a future unknown. we all long to be seen through the lens of another that won’t judge us, but accept us for the vision and beauty that we possess, right here, right now. with every image, we carry the power to make the ordinary extraordinary, and breathe new life into that which otherwise may be overlooked.

i thank God for the unique opportunity to change the world around me by showing you the world that i see. my vision is an instrument of change, memorializing the precious details in life for all times. just like every image has angles that abound, each different from the rest, so too do people have many sides to them, unique in their own right. may all of our eyes be open enough to also see their beauty.

Tammy & Billy - the journey begins

I consider it an honor and joy to photograph the journey of one of my dearest friends and soror, Tammy, as she prepares to have her first baby in September. Tammy and I have become very close over the last few years and she is so very dear to me. Her and Billy were kind enough to let my creativity fly at the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis - they were great sports, and we had a good time.

Tammy has never seen me "work" as she put it, so she spent the first part of the session laughing and trying to be serious. She's a nut! =)

I look forward to capturing the first images of the newest member of their family!!

Katina and Scott are Engaged!

Well, they've been engaged for a minute now, but we just did their engagement pictures, so I can officially say - they are engaged!! =) I met Katina a few months ago and she is just super-cute, there was an immediate connection. I just met Scott at the session, and they are a really fun couple. I really look forward to photographing their wedding on August 16 at Forest Park in St. Louis. There are going to be 11 bridesmaids and groomsmen! My mind is already spinning with creative ideas for this large group!

Here are a few of my favorites.

Enjoy! Leslie

Andreas & Rhonda - They Did it!!!!

Andreas and Rhonda tied the knot yesterday at Trinity Episcopal Church in the Central West End in St. Louis, Missouri!! The reception was at the Mahler Ballroom. It was a beautiful day - a photographer's dream weather for a wedding. It rained the day before during the entire rehearsal, but God smiled on us this day! Rhonda and Andreas are a wonderful couple, and along with her son, this new family is as happy as can be. Clearly you can see we had a good time. =)

Here are just a few pictures on the steps of the church. Enjoy!!!

Andreas & Rhonda - Engagement pictures!!!

Tomorrow is the big day for Rhonda and Andreas!! We went to Westport Plaza for their engagement session, and tomorrow they will be married at Trinity Episcopal in the Central West End, with their reception following at the Mahler Ballroom!! It's going to be a fabulous event!!

Rhonda wanted to get married on 6-7-08, first because 6-7-8 has a cool rhythm to it, and more importantly, "7" is the biblical number of completion and "8" is the number of new beginnings. May God truly bless this couple!!

Check back soon for some of my favorite pics from the wedding!! Leslie

Chinese Culture Days 2008

I recently was privileged when the Missouri Botanical Gardens featured some of my images for their primary marketing pieces for the 2008 Chinese Culture Days. This years event (May 17-18, 2008) was of course amazing - the acrobats are incredible!! I hope you were able to enjoy the festivities - if not, see you next year!

The first image is the program bulletin and admittance ticket, and the second is a billboard outside the Garden
