a girl and her camera

my photography has been an outward manifestation of an inward journey. the journey to be seen fresh and anew as the rising sun of each day. glowing in brilliance, with the past behind me, and the excitement of a future unknown. we all long to be seen through the lens of another that won’t judge us, but accept us for the vision and beauty that we possess, right here, right now. with every image, we carry the power to make the ordinary extraordinary, and breathe new life into that which otherwise may be overlooked.

i thank God for the unique opportunity to change the world around me by showing you the world that i see. my vision is an instrument of change, memorializing the precious details in life for all times. just like every image has angles that abound, each different from the rest, so too do people have many sides to them, unique in their own right. may all of our eyes be open enough to also see their beauty.

Bellies Galore!!!!!

I had a fun weekend full of bellies, soon to be babies! It was my total joy and pleasure to photograph two of my favorite mommies-to-be, Tammy and Barb!

Tammy's red dress was just stunning on her, so I continually made her spin around and strut her stuff! =)

And my dear Barb and her precious boys, were eager to encourage their sister to come on out and join them to play.We found some cool areas at Covenant Seminary to play in.

All in all, I had a fun weekend and look forward to capturing more memories for both of these families!

Katina & Scott - Great Weather, Great Group

My complete and humble thanks to God for providing Katina and Scott with the most perfect weather for their wedding on 8/16/08. I had the privilege of watching this darling couple take their vows at the Norman Probstein (Forest Park) Golf Course - outside under the tents. The wedding party included 24 people and we had a good time, traveling in golf carts for our post-ceremony pictures.

I'm afraid that I gave truth to the "women are bad drivers" stereotype as I almost ran into some of the groomsmen in my efforts to reverse the golf cart. Ugh - we just had to laugh anyway. What can you do?? =) Thank goodness there are no pictures of that. =)

May God bless this couple as they start their new life together. I've shared some of my favorite images, and a small video to wet your whistle - more to come!!! (pause the blog music before viewing the video - as it has its own music).

God Bless and enjoy!

Busy weekend of New Beginnings

Busy busy weekend - but lots o' fun! First, on 8/8/08 was the wedding of my dear friend Sherri and her fabulous guy Tim. "8" is the number of new beginnings- and I know this is an exciting one for Sherri and her family - so my prayers are with them for an amazing marriage! (Its always fun to "shoot" my good friends). See a sample video above!

Then, the next morning was the family shoot of another dear friend Melissa and her family at Forest Park near Government Hill.

And then later that night was the engagement of Felicia and her fiance Quincy, also at Forest Park near the Planetarium. Their wedding is 9/13/08.

All in all, fun, but busy weekend - I have lots of pictures to review!!

God bless,

Leslie

I just returned from one of the most amazing weeks of my "photography" life. =) I taught for a week at a summer arts camp, called Envision U, in Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas. I had the privilege of teaching 18 students (4 classes a day) the fine art of digital photography, and a smaller group alternative ways of developing prints. The class was called "Take A Shot." The campsite was amazing, the view - a gift from God, and the staff and students inspiring.

This video (6 min.) is the one produced by my students as their final project. They did such a wonderful job and I look forward for similar opportunities in the future. I've also included a group photo, some scenery pics and some of my girls in action - these are some talented kids who I know will one day be famous!

Enjoy! Leslie
